ANOTHER blow to Newport town centre comes with the news ATS Euromaster is selling its huge South Street site.
The branch didn't re-open after the first Covid lockdown and now the entire site is on the market.
All the services it offered, except breakdown services, are now offered at the other Island ATS site, at Spithead Industrial Estate in Lake.
They have a staff of six offering services including tyres, exhausts, MOTs, servicing, vehicle alignments, batteries and suspension work.
The news follows a To Let sign going up at Mountain Warehouse on the High Street.
There are dozens of empty retail premises around Newport's town centre, including the former Co-op which housed the Post Office.
Prezzo also closed in Newport, leaving the former Post Office building standing empty once again.
And Pizza Express left an empty premises on the corner of Town Lane and Pyle Street when it closed last summer.
The towns remaining non-essential shops are preparing to re-open after lockdown, on April 12.
