To mark the 90th anniversary of the last time the UK won the Schneider Trophy, an air race will again be held over the Isle of Wight.
Planes will compete over the original course, starting from Sandown Airport in July.
This year's hair-raising, high g-force competition has been announced by British Air Racing, in a post on Facebook.
The original Schneider Trophy is held at the Science Museum in London.
The first race was in 1912 - for a prize of £1,000.
It was staged twelve times, until 1931, but since 1981, revival races have been taking place.
Pilots race in time trials, setting off individually a few minutes apart, following a mapped-out course with sharp turns, over the Island.
