Island Roads has collected some of the fly-tipped rubbish at Whale Chine, the Isle of Wight Council has told the County Press.
A mattress, piping, plastic and clay plant balls were among waste dumped at the West Wight beauty spot and photographed by Islander Lisa Davis, this week.
However, a County Press reader has told us that it might actually have already been there for months.
Although, the local authority has confirmed that Island Roads has now picked up rubbish from the car park, it said other rubbish would need to be collected by waste contractor Amey.
It has now emerged that a very similar pile of rubbish was first reported in August 2020.
That is when an email was sent warning of: "Small brown balls which resemble dog food...and assorted junk. A bed or mattress lying on top of it all."
When Lisa photographed a mattress and a large amount of garden waste, this week, she said rubbish was thrown "over the hedgerow and down into the Chine itself - from the very top to the very bottom."

The Isle of Wight County Press is asking for updates on when the rest of the rubbish will be cleared.
