THIS year marks the 20th anniversary of the birth of the IW International Charity Classic Car Extravaganza.
The first event was held in 2001 and since then, organiser Vic Gallucci has endeavoured to bring a wide range of vehicles to the Island — and raise money for local charities at the same time, including Mountbatten.

In the past, the event has attracted vehicles from across the UK and Europe and visiting car clubs regularly stay on the Island for several days and make a proper holiday of it.
The two-day extravaganza is held in September each year and in recent years has been held at Newport Quay on Saturdays and Ryde Esplanade on Sundays.

Covid restrictions meant last year’s show had to be cancelled, but Vic is hopeful this year’s event will be able to go ahead on September 11 and 12, depending on government and council guidelines at the time.
