A FURTHER three people have died from coronavirus in care homes and at home on the Isle of Wight, new data has revealed.
According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), two people have died in care homes and one person has died at home.
One care home death was recorded between February 12 and 19, while the other happened in the week ending February 12.
The other death, recorded at home, happened between January 1 and January 8.
The total number of deaths in the community, since the start of the pandemic, now stands at 124.
Of those deaths, 112 have been in care homes, nine at home, and two elsewhere. One person has died in hospice.
In 2021 alone, 64 people have now died in care homes, with two thirds of those happening in January.
In total, there have been 264 Covid-related deaths on the Island, of which 140 were in hospital.
