FURTHER confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been recorded on the Isle of Wight, according to the latest data released by Public Health England.
Another 8 cases have been confirmed today (Monday), a slight decrease on yesterday's figure of 12, with the month's high of 57 recorded on Friday (February 12).
The new cases take the county's total to 6,554 since the start of the pandemic.
The rolling data of cases per 100,000 of population for the Island, though five days behind, has dropped significantly and now stands at 116.4.
It remains below the UK average of 149.7. Yesterday the Island's rate was 136.7.
One more Covid death was announced at St Mary's Hospital yesterday (Sunday), taking the total to 231 deaths on the Island, of which 138 have been at the hospital, with a further 93 recorded care homes (88), homes (4) and one at a hospice.

The Covid tide on the Isle of Wight generally does appear to be turning though, according to the Government's interactive map.
With high numbers of cases and higher-than-average rolling rates throughout January, the Isle of Wight now looks like it is heading in the right direction after almost six weeks of lockdown.
