More confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been recorded on the Isle of Wight, the latest data from Public Health England has revealed.
On Tuesday the Island recorded the lowest daily Covid increase of the year — three cases.
Today (Thursday), a further 16 cases have been confirmed, taking the Island's cumulative total to 6,463 since the start of the pandemic.
Yesterday 36 were recorded, with 15 cases on Monday and 19 the day before.
The rolling data of cases per 100,000 of population for the Island, though five days behind, now stands at 112.9.
It remains below the UK average which is 183.5. Yesterday the Island's rate was 123.4.
One new Covid-related death was announced at St Mary's Hospital today, with three announced on Tuesday and none yesterday.

Nine people died in care homes on the Island in the week to January 29, and another death was added to the overall tally yesterday, dating to the week ending January 22.

Two new cases of the virus were reported by Medina College earlier yesterday (Wednesday).
It follows a case announced by the Newport school earlier in the week.
