From Dr Mike Baverstock, Ware, Herts:
A long time ago, I grew up on the Island.
My family moved to Sandown when I was four and I'm now 64.
We then moved to Yaverland when I was six and Browns was just a few hundred yards away.

I started to play golf there when I was old enough to play on the front course (the easy one) and have continued to play golf ever since, albeit on more difficult courses.
I can't believe that this part of my heritage — and everyone else's who grew up on the Island — could now to be lost. This simply cannot be allowed to happen.
The boating lake has already gone...please don't let Browns go the same way.
