Islanders are being urged to ignore Covid-19 'misinformation', branded 'dangerous' by the Isle of Wight Clinical Commissioning Group.
The health organisation has reacted after a leaflet was delivered to some homes last week.
Islanders took to social media to say they had binned the flyer publicising a number of websites and videos making claims against the coronavirus jabs.
Alison Smith, Managing Director of NHS Isle of Wight Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “There will always be a small number of people who question vaccinations and disagree with the national immunisation programme."
She said: “While the great majority of people fully understand the issues, it is incredibly dangerous to share misinformation and I encourage any household that has received this letter to ignore it.
"Safe and effective for the vast majority" - Alison Smith, MD, Isle of Wight CCG
“The Covid-19 vaccinations that are being used are safe and effective for the vast majority of people – they have been tested on thousands of people and assessed by experts.
“This is the biggest immunisation programme in the history of the NHS and I appreciate people will have questions about the vaccine, how it has been developed, its safety and its delivery.
“I would urge you to look at official, trusted organisations to get this information. Both NHS.uk and GOV.uk have vast amounts of information which can dispel the myths.
"A huge step forward" - Alison Smith, MD, Isle of Wight CCG"
“The vaccine is a huge step forward to help us safely come out of the pandemic and it is important to take up the vaccine when it is offered to you.”
