Medina College says a 'small number' of its pupils have been told to self-isolate at home for 10 days, after a positive coronavirus test was confirmed.

The families of those who must isolate were sent an email on Saturday.

The Newport school remains open for all others currently eligible to attend.

Like others on the Island, classes continue for the children of keyworkers and those who are vulnerable.

The college says it is working closely with Public Health England.

Meawhile, 19 new cases were confirmed on the Isle of Wight yesterday, after two days where new cases topped 30.

However, that represents a fall on the rolling average for the Island.
