FURTHER Covid-related deaths have been confirmed at St Mary's Hospital today (Wednesday).
According to new data published by NHS England, there have been three more deaths at the Isle of Wight hospital.
Two were recorded on January 31 and another on February 1.
These are cases of people recorded as having died after testing positive for Covid-19.
It brings the total amount of Covid patient deaths at the Isle of Wight hospital to 123 since the start of the pandemic.
Five were recorded on Monday.
Yesterday, it was announced care homes on the Isle of Wight had suffered huge losses of residents to Covid.
It was revealed 24 people in Island care homes died in the week running up to January 22.
The total number of Isle of Wight Covid deaths now stands at 206, with 78 in care homes, four in private homes, and one in a hospice.
There were 28 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 announced yesterday for the Isle of Wight.
The update showed the Island below the UK rolling rate for first time in weeks.
