A stretch of the beach-side footpath at Appley in Ryde remains cordoned off, more than a week after a sinkhole opened up.
The hole is growing, say people in the town.
Island Roads has put up emergency safety barriers.
Islanders are warned to steer clear.
Isle of Wight Council is in charge of carrying out the fix.
