A number of children and staff from St Saviour's primary school in Totland are self-isolating.
A number of staff have reported cases of Covid-19, the school told parents in a letter, while others are being required to stay home, by track and trace.
It has forced the school to close - due to the availability of teaching staff.
It had been open for the children of keyworkers and those who are vulnerable.

Children have moved to online learning, and a staggered return will start next week.
The school has written to families and says it is working with PHE and says welfare is 'at the heart' of its decision making.
