It came after days when the numbers of new cases appeared to be dropping.
On Wednesday, 138 new positive tests were added to the Island's tally.
The seven-day rolling average (per 100,000 people) continued to fall yesterday, however.
The numbers lag behind current cases data, but in the week to January 15, there was an average 913.1 cases per 100,000 Islanders.
According to the figures published at 4pm on Wednesday, the Isle of Wight's average remains high, when compared to other areas of the country.

Three more deaths of patients at St Mary's, after positive coronavirus tests, were announced yesterday.
It bring the total number of deaths in hospital here to 92, since the pandemic started.
Meanwhile, tributes have been pouring in for a leading light in Island sport, who has died after contracting Covid-19.
