ANOTHER surge in positive Covid cases has been recorded today (Monday) on the Isle of Wight, taking the total for January beyond 1,000.
A total of 282 new cases have been recorded today following the 459 new cases recorded yesterday.
Today's figure takes the Island's cumulative total to 2,728 since the pandemic began and 1,049 in January alone.
The rate per 100,000 people on the Isle of Wight is now 592.5, a large increase from yesterday's 426.7, but that data is five days behind. It puts us above average in the UK, and rising.
