THERE has been another significant rise in confirmed Isle of Wight Covid-19 cases today (Tuesday), according to figures published by Public Health England.
A further 21 cases have been recorded today, taking the cumulative total to 1,153 since the start of the pandemic.
Yesterday, 24 positive cases had been recorded, which followed Sunday's record daily increase of 36.
The Isle of Wight's infection rate per 100,000 is now higher than Cornwall and Isles of Scilly, with 103 cases recorded in the last seven days.

These are all cases of people registered on the Isle of Wight.
There has been a total of 103 Covid-related deaths on the Island — 52 in hospital, 47 in care homes, three at home and one in a hospice.
The Island is now showing as having 72.7 cases per 100,000 — the highest it has been since November 18.

Covid cases in the UK surged to the highest-ever daily rise today, as positive tests doubled in just a week.
A total of 36,804 infections and 691 deaths were recorded.
