There has been another sharp rise in the number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 on the Isle of Wight today.
A total of 24 cases have been recorded today, taking the cumulative total since the pandemic began to 1,132. It follows yesterday's record daily increase of 36 positive cases.
The total for December now stands at 162, after 342 were recorded in November — more than any other month to date.
These are all cases of people registered on the Isle of Wight.

A total of 103 Covid-related deaths are made up of 52 in hospital, 47 in care homes, three at home and one in a hospice.
The Island is now showing as having 55.7 cases per 100,000. Despite the notable increase, the Isle of Wight has the eleventh lowest infection rate per capita in the UK.
Islanders are now starting to be vaccinated, with the over-80s first priority.
