The Isle of Wight's Food On The Move project has been hailed a success at an annual awards ceremony.

The South Western Railway (SWR) initiative was picked out for praise at the national Community Rail Awards.

SWR provides funding and support to 11 Community Rail Partnerships - including the Island's.

They are not-for-profit organisations, set up to promote healthy and sustainable travel, as well as support social and economic development.

Its Food on the Move was launched in the early days of the pandemic, using funding SWR had provided for a musical event.

Meals were delivered to the most vulnerable during lockdown.

The project came joint second in the Best Community Engagement Project category - alongside a similar scheme in Lymington, Hampshire.
