A CURIOUS monolith, akin to those recently found in Utah, California and Romania, has been spotted on Compton beach.

The internet recently exploded over a strange metal monolith seen standing in the middle of the Utah desert, and now a similar object has appeared on the Isle of Wight.

Initially believed to be a type of Photoshop hoax, the evidence became increasingly more compelling as Islanders continued to share snapshots with the mysterious monolith.

An artists' group took credit for the object found in Utah, so the question is, who is responsible for this Isle of Wight pastiche?

The object is around 10ft tall, and was first spotted this morning (Sunday).
