AN ACCLAIMED photographer from the Isle of Wight has been nominated for a prestigious national award.
Sienna Anderson caught the eye of the British Photography Awards (BPA) for her stunning underwater image showcasing the Murano glass Mermaid Gin bottle.
The photo is among 380 worldwide images in various sections, and needs votes from the public in order to take the top spot.
Sienna's shot is one of 20 images selected in the Commercial Product category and is supporting marine conservation charity Surfers Against Sewage.
She said: "I am absolutely delighted to be shortlisted for the BPA 2021 with my Mermaid Gin image.
"It is among 380 worldwide entries in the people's choice vote, which is now open."
Sienna created the picture using a diver's oxygen tank fixed with fine rubber tubing, piercing tiny holes to create the amazing effect when the valve was opened.
All of this was shot from within a fish tank inside a studio.
Sienna was drawn to the biodegradable, plastic-free ethos of Mermaid Gin, which has its headquarters on the outskirts of Ryde.
You can vote for Sienna's image on the British Photography Awards website.
Sienna is no stranger to the awards, having made the birdlife category shortlist last year for her image of an egret in flight.
