THE floating bridge is due to return to service tomorrow (Friday), the Isle of Wight Council has announced.

While repairs and inspections completed, the service is set to return to timetable from 5am.

The council had hoped the link between Cowes and East Cowes would be up and running last month, but additional work was needed for the vessel to return to service.

A launch remains in operation, though passengers are advised to avoid the crossing around high tide or ensure they have adequate footwear.
