A 'smelly' dead dolphin, that went missing from Yaverland, was accidentally incinerated.
Arc Consulting, which is based in Sandown Bay, had applied for a licence to keep (and display, at a public event in 2021), the skeleton of the marine animal.
It had previously washed up on the Isle of Wight and was set to be a star attraction at next year's Discovery Bay. When it disappeared from outside their offices overnight, it led to a hunt for the missing mammal.
After asking, "Has anyone seen our dolphin?!' on social media, the team learned it had inadvertently been disposed of.
It had been reported to the Isle of Wight Council - and the local authority had followed the normal procedure for cases in which wild animals have died.
Instead, Arc Consulting will be given another specimen to display, in the sad event the body of another dolphin is recovered.
The sad remains of the former dolphin, which has now been disposed of.
