A NEWPORT man appeared in front of Isle of Wight magistrates after police found cannabis behind his sofa.
David Toker, 39, of Hogan Close, admitted possession of the drug on August 6, at the court on Friday.
Liz Miller, prosecuting, said police had searched Toker's address in relation to somebody else and found a small amount of cannabis behind the sofa.
He said it was his, for his own personal use.
James Cameron, representing Toker, said he used the drug to help with his anxiety, but accepted it was still illegal.
Toker was given a £40 fine and ordered to pay a £34 surcharge and £40 court costs.
