Tony Hadley from 80s supergroup Spandau Ballet is joining forces with former Isle of Wight Radio presenter Alex Dyke and guitarist Jim Cregan, for a brand new podcast.
The Stars Cars Guitars team plans to visit guests including car enthusiast Rod Stewart (for whom Jim played guitar) and they’re already in talks with producers to turn the podcast into a TV show.

A former DJ at Shanklin Youth Club in the 1970s and more recently a presenter at BBC Radio Solent, Alex’s idea was born out of March’s lockdown.
It’s already a success after just a handful of recordings.
The former Sandown High School pupil said: “I’d known Jim for a while and interviewed him on many occasions so I knew he had some great stories to tell.
“He lived in LA for years when he worked with Rod Stewart and he has a genuine musical pedigree and he definitely knows how to tell a tale.
“Although I didn’t know Tony well, I did know he was very engaging and also had some fantastic stories to tell listeners.
“I wasn’t sure he’d be interested but when I called him up, he loved the idea and it all took off from there.”
One of the episodes includes a trip to see the car from Minder
Jim’s credits also include playing the guitar solo on Cockney Rebel's "Come Up and See Me (Make Me Smile)" and five years working with Katie Melua.
Stars Cars Guitars is aimed at the 40 plus age group with a ‘retro feel’. But there’s nothing retro about podcasting. Instead, Alex thinks the downloadable, bite-sized audio format is very much of the now.
He said: “You can simply download a podcast like ours and listen to it wherever and whenever you wish has to be the future.
“Combined with the best of traditional broadcasting it has to be the way forward.”
Although cars and guitars are an important element of the podcast, “nothing is off limits.”
Alex said: “So far we’ve visited the collector who owns all the cars from the TV show Minder, chatted about the best cars we’ve owned and heard tales of smashing up hotel rooms.
“But we’ve also discussed topics much closer to home such as how important the love of your father is, our families and relationships.
“None of it is rehearsed or scripted - I think that’s why so many great stories are coming out because it’s all perfectly natural.”
Stars Cars Guitars is produced by another name in Isle of Wight broadcasting - Tom Stroud - and you can find it HERE.
