Freshwater parish councillor Vix Lowthion has been elected to the national executive of the Green Party of England and Wales.
She's the party's new policy development coordinator - with responsibility to review and grow the full range of party policies.
She also heads up the Green Party on the Isle of Wight and has stood as its parliamentary candidate for the Island.
Miss Lowthion called it “an absolute privilege" to take on the voluntary, unpaid role.
