WOOTTON Post Office is set to close at the start of next month following the resignation of its operator.
The Central Store Post Office, located on Wootton High Street, will be closing temporarily on Sunday, November 1, at 5.30pm.
A notice on the door says the closure is a consequence of the resignation of the operator and a withdrawal of the premises for Post Office use.
The closure means the Wootton area will be without Post Office services until a new premises is found.
It says that during this period of closure, customers requiring post office services may use any convenient Post Office branch.
Post Office says it is looking to restore a Post Office service in the area as soon as possible.
UPDATE 2pm:
A Post Office spokesperson said: “We’re sorry to inform local residents that Wootton Bridge Post Office will temporarily close on Sunday, November 1.
“We know many people rely on our services and we’re committed to restoring Post Office services to the area.
"In the meantime, customers can visit nearby York Avenue Post Office or Binstead Post Office.”
