ISLAND Charity UKSA has joined forces with The Prince’s Trust to give local young people the chance to find their dream career in maritime.
Get Started with Sailing is a fully funded five-day programme developed by UKSA as part of their Sea.Change Foundation.
The foundation is a new programme that will provide young people the opportunity to visit UKSA for five days over the school holidays.
Supported through the generosity of a donation to the Prince’s Trust, UKSA is offering ten Isle of Wight 16-19 year olds the opportunity to join the pilot programme during the October half term.
Ben Willows, UKSA chief executive, said: “The Sea.Change Foundation is being launched to ensure we can be there for thousands of children and young people for who outside and adventure learning can make an extraordinary difference.
"I thank the Prince’s Trust for its support which made it possible to offer this exciting pilot programme to our Island young people."
To apply for a free taster session contact Ashleigh Gibbs at ashleigh.gibbs@uksa.org or by calling 301901.
The sessions will be held on both the morning and afternoon of October 10.
