THIS stunning sequence of photos shows some interaction between one of the Isle of Wight's established sea eagles and one of the newly released ones.
Photographer Nick Edwards got lucky when he spotted them flying overhead — he wasn't even out looking for them at the time.
He captured the pair on camera, locking talons and tumbling from the skies.
He also took a photo showing the older bird having a breather afterwards.
He said: "Although I enjoy using my long prime lens, sometimes a much more simple approach (and camera) captures interesting action very well indeed."
The Island's first batch of white-tailed sea eagles, released last year, have been joined by a further seven, released this month.
The five-year reintroduction programme hopes to eventually introduce 60 eagles to the Island.
Led by Forestry England and the Roy Dennis Wildlife Foundation, it aims to restore this lost species to the Island and the south coast after an absence of 240 years.
