A much-missed Wightlink Fastcat has been spotted crossing The Solent, leading to speculation that the service could be about to make its return.
It has been suspended since the start of the coronavirus lockdown.
In recent weeks, a petition calling for its reinstatement has collected more than two thousand signatures.

Today (Monday), a foot passenger ferry was seen docking at Ryde Pier.
The Isle of Wight County Press has asked Wightlink for a comment.
In its most recent statement, the operator said there was not enough demand, but said further annoucements were due soon.
