ONE Isle of Wight business owner has teamed up with a local charity wood turner to produce handmade dolls for The Phoenix Project (TPP).

Keziah Lewis, 28, founder of Tact-Isle Toys, has joined forces with TTP trustee David Ives to produce ten special bespoke dolls — raising money for the charity.

The pair have raised £800 so far, and Keziah is hoping local businesses might get involved and donate toward the cost of more specialist woods.

"I make CE tested wooden toys called 'Bumbles', using locally sourced wood," said Keziah, who operates her business from her home in Sandown.

"The 'Bumbles' have become very popular since I started in December, and now sell out in minutes when I restock.

"The wood purchased will be turned into dolls and then 'Bumbled' by myself before being sold at auction or raffle, with proceeds going to a wide variety of charities.

"David hopes to source our fancier wood for future projects from Andy Fortune, who owns the Mulberry Tree Wood Turnery in Newtown."

The Phoenix Project is a registered charity, founded in 2011, to provide day care services to adults with learning disabilities and autism.
