A PRIVATE online streaming service will make Isle of Wight crematorium funerals available to people unable to attend because of social distancing.
A new camera has been installed at the facility near Whippingham.
Ten people are allowed to attend the service in person, but restrictions to fight the coronavirus pandemic mean others cannot be there and many people are unable to travel at all.
When booking funerals at the crematorium, families will be issued with an ‘event’ link by their funeral director that can then be shared with their loved ones, as well as details of how to ‘log in’ and watch the service.
The Isle of Wight Council warns service streaming quality will depend on the device and internet connection and it cannot guarantee an uninterrupted service.
