THREE quarters of more than three thousand people who voted in an Isle of Wight County Press Facebook poll will download the government's new test and trace coronavirus app.

Seventy five per cent of those who responded to our question yesterday told us they would be prepared to use it.

The app will be rolled out on the Isle of Wight later today (Tuesday), for council and NHS workers.

All other Islanders will be able to download it from Thursday. 

Twenty five per cent of those who voted said they were not prepared to take part, however and the government says it has made alternative ways to report symptoms available.

The Isle of Wight Council says it has volunteers ready to help Islanders unsure of how to download and use the app, should they need support.
