ANOTHER person has died at St Mary's Hospital as a result of coronavirus, bringing the total to 15, according to new NHS figures.
The death was recorded at St Mary's Hospital and was revealed by NHS England on the latest official figures today (Wednesday.)
The update comes after a fourteenth person died at the weekend.
Alistair Flowerdew, medical director at Isle of Wight NHS Trust, said: "Sadly, we can confirm that two women being cared for at St Mary’s Hospital who had tested positive for coronavirus have died.
"Aged in their 60s and 80s the two women both had underlying health conditions.
"Their families have been informed and our thoughts and deepest condolences are with them all at this difficult and distressing time."
This brings the Island's death toll to 15, with an additional confirmed case meaning that number has risen to 74.
