WITH so many of us in lockdown, Islanders may not have seen that the Countryman pub, on the outskirts of Brighstone, is no more.

The pub has been in disrepair for a few years and has now been totally demolished.

In October 2018, the County Press reported it was on the market for £360,000.

Brighstone resident Dan Wavell took the image on his daily walk.

Dan remembered stories of his parents betting married there when it was Casa Espanol, and working there himself pulling pints, washing up and peeling carrots.
