TWO young 'urban explorers' had a brush with the law today.

Isle of Wight Police said their response officers, with the assistance of a dog unit, stopped and detained two males on suspicion of burglary at Ryde Theatre on Lind Street this afternoon (Easter Sunday).

The police said: "The two young males were 'urban explorers' and have been dealt with and recovered by their parents, who were understandably mortified.

"Neither had previously been in trouble with police and we do not like criminalising young people."
