A BY-ELECTION that was due to be held in Shanklin on April 2 has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak, the Isle of Wight Council has said.
The town council-position vote will now be rescheduled.
It is among a series of ballots across the country that have been impacted by the pandemic including, as the Isle of Wight County Press previously reported, the decision about who will be the Island's next Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC).
Instead, the election of the PCC has been postponed to Thursday 6 May 2021.
Planned elections will also take place on that date for the Isle of Wight Council, and Town and Parish councils.
