SECOND hand goods chain CeX concluded its 2019 trade in to win promotion, handing a cheque for £10,000 to one lucky Isle of Wight resident.

Joe Gardner, of Cowes, became the grand prize winner, receiving the cheque from Isle of Wight branch manager Jim and colleague Wez.

"I've recently moved to Cowes, where me and my partner Zoe bought our first house," said Joe.

"I'm super stoked about winning this money. I’ll be investing some of it, and the rest will be spent doing up the house.

"We are going on holiday soon, so the money will allow us to do some cool stuff we wouldn’t normally do."

First launched in the UK in 2016, CeX's promotion has awarded customers more than £40,000 for simply trading in their old games, gadgets and phones in store or online.

As well as a £10,000 grand prize, seven weekly winners each took home £250 ­— all just for trading in.
