TRAFFIC through Newport has slowed dramatically this afternoon (Monday) as two breakdowns cause queues throughout the town.
Medina Way, from its junction with Coppins Bridge all the way past St Mary's Hospital is seeing heavy delays of upwards of ten minutes.
Drivers are advised to avoid the route if possible.
UPDATE, 5.15pm: Bembridge Coastguard Resuce Team tweeted they had helped one of the broken down vehicles on the dual carriageway.
During routine patrol today we found a 81 year old lady who had broken down on the Dual Carriageway Newport, vehicle put in the “Fend out” position for safety which we recently learned during a training session with our SCOO.
