AN army of volunteers has helped relocate the shop and cafe run by Friends of St Mary's Hospital.

As previously reported, the group has had to move out of their prominent foyer site as a result of the hospital’s decision to invite a commercial undertaking to run a coffee shop there.

The Friends are still offering service with a smile in their new locations.

They have retained a 'corner shop' in the foyer area and the charity’s cafe has been re-located to the northern section of the hospital, next to the new out-patients' department.

“About eight of us have been involved in transferring everything to the new sites,” said shop/café manager Lisa Brodie, whose own office is next to the shop.

“It is gratifying to see that throughout these big changes we have enjoyed so much support from customers, patients and staff.”
