ISLE of Wight police are hosting an event in Ryde — where people can have their say on what positive steps can be taken to help tackle serious violence.

Refreshments will be provided, and the first 100 people to sign up and attend will receive £10 cash for their participation, as well as entry into a raffle.

A spokesperson for Isle of Wight Police said: "It's a great way to start a conversation with the public.

"We are looking for residents and young people to join us to discuss building young people’s resilience, steering them away from crime and violence, and what you think would make you feel safer living and working in Ryde."

The event will be held at The Ryde Castle, Esplanade, on March 12 between 6pm and 8pm.
