A MET Office weather warning for ice on the Isle of Wight has been issued this morning (Tuesday).

The yellow warning comes into effect at midnight and runs until 10am tomorrow.

The Met Office said: "A mix of rain and hail showers, with some snow over higher ground, is likely to leave surfaces wet overnight. Surface temperatures are then expected to fall below freezing with icy stretches forming in places."

People have been urged to take care on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
