There are lots of great things for people with disabilities to do on the Isle of Wight — that's the message that will be going out at West Wight Sports and Community Centre next month.

Isle Access, which promotes activities for people with disabilities, is giving chances to try all sorts of things, from climbing to swimming and gym to cycling.

The Accessible Activities and Services Day will run on March 14 from 10.30am to 3.30pm.

There will also be the opportunity to find out more about sports such as cricket and sailing, plus information stands from a wide choice of disability organisations.

Wheelchair sports such as basketball and tennis may also be represented.

Jan Brookes, Isle Asccess's organiser of the day, said: "The event is free to come to. If any other organisation wants to take part it is free for charities/non profits, businesses will be asked for a donation.

"The event is to inform disabled people and their families/carers, some of the accessible activities available to them on the Island.

"We held a similar day last year for Disabled Access Day and this year we have more organisations participating. The event is co-hosted with West Wight Sports and Community Centre.
