PRIME Minister Boris Johnson has assured the Isle of Wight it will get its Island Deal — during the Brexit debate in the House of Commons last night.
The session — described by the BBC's political editor Laura Kuenssberg as one of the most brutal she had ever witnessed — came a day after the Supreme Court ruled Mr Johnson's suspension of Parliament unlawful.
MPs met last night to find a way forward, and MP Bob Seely stood up to tell Mr Johnson 'my folks on the Isle of Wight' want Brexit delivered on October 31.
He said the 'obstacles' in the way made them more determined.
Mr Johnson said: "I thought he was going to ask me about the Island deal that we’re going to do. I can assure you that we are. Don’t worry."
Mr Seely has been pushing for an Island Deal to secure extra government money to reflect the Isle of Wight's challenges as an Island.
Mr Johnson also reassured Mr Seely he would get his plan, when he visited the Island in June during the leadership contest.
