THE annual Festival of Heroes event was held at Brading Roman Villa at the weekend, in aid of Daisy Chains Isle of Wight, a charity for children with life-limiting conditions.
The two-day event, sponsored by Wight Aid, Novum Law and The Holiday Shop, saw children and adults alike dressed in their best cosplay of their favourite superheroes.
There were scheduled 'meet and greet' sessions for children — and superfans — to meet popular characters, Thanos and Hulk, Guardians of the Galaxy, Optimus Prime and characters from Fortnite.
Guests could meet the animatronic dinosaurs of Dino4Hire, while meeting the rangers and looking at real fossils — or watch falconry and dog displays, and enjoy pony rides.
A big top hosted live character shows, including Toy Story, Glittopia the Unicorn, princess and superhero shows, and performances by Captain Nash Pirate Adventures.
Island organisations, including Ability Dogs 4 Young People, the Isle of Wight Garrison, Danceatomic and the Starlight Boutique also supported the family event.
