A MAN was rescued from the sea at Yaverland this evening.

The male was retrieved from the water and taken to St Mary's Hospital by ambulance, arriving there at 6.53pm.

The incident was attended by Ventnor and Bembridge coastguard rescue teams, Sandown and Shanklin Independent Lifeboat and the IW Ambulance Service.
