WITH just one week left to go on a controversial West Wight school's consultation, more than 420 responses have already been received.
Islanders have until June 11 to have their say on a preferred option to manage falling pupil numbers in the area.
The council has said it's preferred option would be to close All Saint's in Freshwater and move the children to Yarmouth primary school temporarily. The school would be expanded by 30 pupils per year group.
At a later date, the school would be relocated back to the All Saint's site, which would be rebuilt with substantial government investment.
Cllr Paul Brading, cabinet member for education, said: "I am very pleased to see we have received in excess of 420 responses so far on the consultation.
"I would continue to encourage everybody with an interest in the consultation to respond before it closes on midnight on 11 June 2019."
A second public meeting is being held on Thursday June 6, between 6pm and 8pm, at All Saints’ CE Primary School.
The consultation can be completed
online.
