DEER have been spotted in Shorwell — leading to more speculation that they are running wild on the Isle of Wight.
There are known captive deer on the Island, with the nearest deer farm to Shorwell at Chale, but there have long been rumours that they are also found in the wild.
There have also been incidents when deer have been suspected of swimming across the Solent.
It has been hotly-contested whether or not the Island has wild deer, but John Cattle took this recent video which he thinks confirms the presence of the animal in the wild.
He said: "I saw them on the road up to the big mast at Shorwell. Just chilling in a field. They looked wild to me. Apparently there's a small amount of wild deer on the Island."
