A DOLPHIN has washed up on an Isle of Wight Beach.
Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team was called out to Shepherd’s Chine, Atherfield, to reports of the large sea mammal on the beach.
The dolphin was dead and heavily decomposed, so identification was not simple, a spokesperson for HM Coastguard said.
Ventnor CRT members documented the discovery and reminded Islanders that if they find something unusual washed ashore, they can phone the coastguard.
