AN ISLE of Wight dentist has been voted in as a trustee of a national cancer charity.
Dr Philip Lewis is now a trustee and clinical ambassador of the Mouth Cancer Foundation, following the charity's recent annual general meeting.
Dr Lewis works at Avenue Road Dental Practice in Freshwater.
He has worked in general practice and as a clinical assistant in the hospital service.
Dr Lewis takes a keen interest in postgraduate education, development of the dental team and public awareness of dental issues.
For the past 10 years, he has been closely involved with the early detection of mouth cancer, lecturing regularly and training dental teams and working closely with the Mouth Cancer Foundation.
The charity said it is thrilled to have Dr Lewis on board as a trustee.
