FOUR donkeys have been given a new home at the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary.
Females Rosie, Amber and China, and male donkey Buttons, arrived at the sanctuary in Wroxall this week.
They travelled from a farm in South Wales after their owner had to give them up. He had been suffering from a long-term serious illness and wanted reassurance that his beloved donkeys could be given a safe and permanent new home.
They have come from the same farm as the sanctuary's other Welsh girls India, Myra, Scooby and Smudgie.
The donkeys were more like pets than farm animals, and the four new arrivals will be kept together.
They will be going into isolation while they are screened and have medical checks, before they are allowed to meet their public. The sanctuary will then let people know which donkey group they have joined.
The sanctuary have thanked Dave Corney of Island Equine Transport who collected the donkeys.
